He added to England's BBC's 6 Music radio station: 'Jimi Hendrix, who opened for us on the road, was a fabulous gentleman and the greatest rock guitar player of all time ever. To have known the Beatles and all those kinds of people I just think I'm on top of the world.'

However Micky and Davy ' who along with Peter Tork have recently announced plans for a 45th anniversary Monkees tour, without fourth member Michael Nesmith ' don't have fond memories of everyone from their heyday, particularly songwriters Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart responsible for the band's hits including 'Last Train To Clarksville' and '(Theme from) The Monkees'.

Micky said: 'Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart wrote most of our songs and were the producers, and I didn't like working with them one bit.'

The song is the first taste of the new Kravitz album 'Black and White America' due mid-year. It is the first Kravitz album for his new label Roadrunner Records.

'Black and White America' is a funk album. It is the 9th studio album for Kravitz.

Lenny debuted 'Come And Get It' in a NBA commercial in late 2010 and recently announced on his Facebook that it will be the first single from the double album.

The album was recorded in the Bahamas across 2009 and 2010. Kravitz and Craig Ross play every instrument on the album.

Soundgarden are recording a new album

The 'Fell On Black Days' group are planning to head into the studio to record a full album for the first time since 1996's 'Down On The Upside', their first newly recorded material since reforming in 2010.

A post on the grunge group's website said:"Over the past few months, we've been busy jamming, writing and hanging out together - exploring the creative aspect of being Soundgarden.

"It feels great. We have some cool new songs that we are going to record very soon. Thank you for all of the support!"

In summer last year lead singer Chris Cornell - who was in the band Audioslave and recorded three solo albums in his time away from the band - had been initially dismissive about recording new material.

He said:"It would be exciting to record one song, to hear how Soundgarden-ish that might be, this much time later. But for me, it's been more of a trip relearning the songs and playing them together."

The band will release a live album, titled 'Live At l5', on March 21.

Radiohead have brought forward the digital release of their new album 'The King Of Limbs' by 24 hours with the album now being sent to those who pre-ordered it earlier this week. It is also available for new orders through www.radiohead.com at a fixed price of£6. A special edition is also available.

With everything ready on their website, the band decided to bring forward the release by a day rather than wait until the planned date of Saturday, Feb 19 to deliver the music.

Ozzy Osbourne is still feeling the effects of his drug abuse

The former Black Sabbath frontman ' who battled drink and drug addictions for the majority of his career ' admitted he often experiences"wobblers"brought on by the LSD, also known as acid, he took during his wild times with the band.

Writing in his latest column in Rolling Stone magazine, he explained:"LSD is a great time until it isn't. One minute you're running down Miami Beach with a foam finger on your head, the next you're sticking a gun in your best friend's face.

"I still get the after-effects of LSD to this day - I call them my wobblers. In a flash, every little problem freaks me out and becomes the end of the world."

The 62-year-old rocker ' who has three children with wife Sharon Osbourne and another three kids from his marriage to Thelma Riley - recently admitted his drug addictions nearly killed him, and he still thinks he is"living on borrowed time".

Ozzy said:"With the drugs, it nearly killed me on a daily basis - I did a lot of heavy drug taking for a long time and I survived it by the grace of God. You might not be as lucky as me - I'm living on borrowed time."

The 66-year-old Who rocker ' who will perform his group's classic album 'Tommy' at London's Royal Albert Hall ' thinks he only has a few years left of his music career and would like to make his current hobby more of a full-time passion when he retires.

He said: ''ve probably got two or three years left to do that kind of music and I want to make the most of it, because again I've been given a gift, use it, use it or lose it, so I'm going to do 'Tommy' at the Albert Hall.

''ll start painting then, I do a bit of daubing in my spare time, but I know that when I start that seriously it's going to have to be serious, there won't be room for anything else.'

Roger's show is part of the annual series of Teenage Cancer Trust charity shows he organises, which features a diverse line-up across several nights.

One headliner this year is Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye and the veteran singer revealed he gets on well with the former Oasis frontman.

He told Absolute Radio DJ Dave Gorman: 'Liam Gallagher, I love him, everybody says 'Oh he's a bit difficult isn't he', I've always found him an absolute sweetheart.

'Liam's a very talented guy, very funny guy, very witty guy, and much cleverer than people give him credit for. Yeah, I love it... Liam is a real rock star. He is 100 per cent the real deal.'

The 22-year-old British star hopes he can challenge people's notions that rappers are involved with drugs and violence and to also remind them that young people can be good members of society.

He explained:"When young people get talked about, it's always negative: it's ASBOs (Anti-Social Behaviour Orders) or shooting people or binge drinking. I want to be someone who represents people in a positive light. That's become my prerogative.

Liam Gallagher would 'vomit' if he had to tour with Oasis again.

The singer created new band Beady Eye ' alongside bandmates Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock - when his brother Noel quit Oasis in August 2009, and he now claims he feels sick at the idea of reuniting for any gigs in the future.

He fumed: 'Thinking about touring with Oasis again in 10 years makes me vomit. What would a reunion be good for? Why would you break up a band, just to come back together and play old songs?

'What's this s**t about? We are in this band, Beady Eye, now, as long as we want to. We are making some bloody good records. The next one is gonna be the big hit, I can tell this already.'

Liam, 38, now feels 'freer' in his new band because he is more involved in the creative process than he was when he worked with his older sibling Noel, 43.

In an interview with German magazine Musikexpress, he said: ' was fine with Oasis as well. The reason I feel freer today is not really to do with Noel but with how we make a record.

'n Oasis, I used to be the very last one to record his part. So the main thing I had to do was wait. This time I was next after guitar and drums, and was much more involved. I am happy - even if I don't look that way.'

It seems that Elton John and Billy Joel are currently not on speaking terms, all stemming from a comment that Elton made in Rolling Stone.

The pair have toured together on and off over the last couple of decades, but a number of dates in 2010 were cancelled because of a physical problem Joel was having. In the RS interview, Elton blames much of it to Billy's on-going addictions and said that he needs to be more serious about rehab and cleaning up.

He's going to hate me for this, but every time he goes to rehab they've been light. When I went to rehab, I had to clean the floors. He goes to rehab where they have TVs. I love you, Billy, and this is tough love. Billy, you have your demons and you're not going to get rid of them at rehab light. You've got to be serious. People adore you, they love you and respect you. You should be able to do something better than what you're doing now.

Initially, Joel issued a statement saying that"Elton is just being Elton"but something more seems to have happened behind the scenes. Elton was on the Today show on Thursday defending his position.

He hates me at the moment. He sent me a message and he's not happy. I understand that. I'm sorry I had to say it, but I'm saying it because I really want Billy to live a long life and be very happy. That's all it came from. I understand why he's mad at me. I'm only trying to help. Maybe I should have done it privately, but I've been so frustrated over the years.

Right now, Joel is reportedly doing his physical therapy for his recent double hip replacement and working on his memoir, The Book of Joel, which is due to come out on April 19.

William Shatner to record a hard rock album

William Shatner is poised to add his odd inflections to an all-star hard rock covers album.

He has reportedly enlisted the talents of metal legend Zakk Wylde, Peter Frampton, and Mike Inez, already.

Rumours suggest he'll also get Brian May of Queen, Steve Howe of Yes and Ian Paice of Deep Purple on it, according to LA Weekly.

And then there's the suggestion that funkmaster Bootsy Collins will chip in.

The tracklist will apparently include 'Space Oddity', Sabbath's 'Iron Man', Foo Fighhters' 'Learn To Fly', 'She Blinded Me With Science' and, the kicker, a trademark Shatner spoken-word rendition of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

The album is likely to be titled Seeking Major Tom.

Hard to tell how much of this is a gag and how much is actually certain, but the idea of it is almost enough without hearing the actual songs.

The pair are now ready to start planning their wedding and have decided on July 2 as a possible date, and the 37-year-old catwalk legend is also thinking up ideas for a 'huge party' to celebrate after the ceremony.

The friend added: 'They're going to have the mother of all weddings. It will be a huge party, one of the biggest she has every thrown.'

Geri Halliwell finds it hard being a single mum

The 38-year-old star ' who has four-year-old daughter Bluebell Madonna from a brief relationship with screenwriter Sacha Gervasi ' says each day brings it's own challenges, but she accepts she doesn't have it as tough as other lone parents.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'Being a single mum is hard ' although it depends on what day you ask me. Sometimes it has its challenges but I am wary to say that it is too tough because I feel more privileged than most and I have a mother who is incredibly hands-on.'

The former Spice Girl is in a relationship with aristocrat Henry Beckwith, and she admits more children could be on the cards.

Asked about the possibility of expanding her family, she said: 'We'll see. I haven't ruled it out. I do love being a mum, although I have to say I feel like I am more in my element now that Bluebell is four-and-a-half.

''m enjoying this stage more than the baby part of it because I can interact with Bluebell. It's great having a daughter.'

Geri remains close with all of the other Spice Girls, especially Victoria Beckham ' who has three sons with her husband David Beckham ' and is thrilled she is pregnant again.

She said: 'Victoria would love a girl. Girls are lovely aren't they? But then I am biased. I am absolutely delighted for Victoria that she is pregnant again. I saw her before for Christmas and I didn't realise she was pregnant. She kept it so well hidden.'
