Katy Perry fell out with Calvin Harris after he pulled out of her tour

The 'Firework' singer posted an upset message on twitter to confirm the Scottish dance musician will not appear as planned at the UK and Ireland dates of her 'California Dreams Tour', prompting him to reply her team made it 'pointless' for him to play the dates.

Katy posted:"Calvin Harris will NOT be joining in on the fun and has CANCELLED last minute (sic).'

Calvin replied:"Sorry to all who wanted to see me with Katy ' her team suddenly moved the goalposts and I was to appear on stage with no production.

"We tried really hard to sort it out, but playing side of stage for 30 mins, it seemed pointless me even being there (sic)"

Katy ' who started the next leg of her tour in Dublin last night (29.03.11) - hit back, saying other acts to support her were content with the stage production and claimed this is not the first time Calvin has cancelled on her.

She wrote:"The goalpost seems to be perfectly fine for New Young Pony Club, Yelle, Robyn, Marina&The Diamonds, to name a few (sic).

"Or how about Janell Monae and her 16 piece band - It's fine, I'm used to you cancelling on me, it's become ur staple (sic)!"

Although it is not known when Calvin last cancelled on the star, he has pulled out of US dates in 2009 due to a chest infection and in 2008 he cancelled three dates in the UK because of 'other European commitments'.

He later sent another tweet to the 'I Kissed A Girl' singer apologising, and wrote another message to fans saying: 'The whole KP stuff shd never have been on twitter, I was trying 2 handle it pro behind the scenes but i wont let myself get ripped like that (sic).'

The Gaslight Anthem, Thin Lizzy and Jimmy Cliff to play Finsbury Park's London Feis

London Feis has announced Irish legends Thin Lizzy, fronted by Ricky Warwick of The Almighty and reggae impresario Jimmy Cliff will play on Sunday 19th June, whilst The Gaslight Anthem will play on the Saturday.

The festival has also confirmed Paul Brady, Eddi Reader, Hothouse Flowers and Cry Before Dawn for the Sunday and Irish indie group The Coronas for the Saturday.

Other acts announced so far are: Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Christy Moore with Declan Sinnott, The Cranberries, Imelda May, The Waterboys, The Undertones, The Saw Doctors, Clannad, Horslips, Afro Celt Sound System, Nanci Griffith, Shane MacGowan, Sharon Shannon Big Band, Frankie Gavin&De Dannan, and The Fureys.

The festival takes place in Finsbury Park, London, on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June 2011.

The Irish music festival, which celebrates 21 years of the best Irish and international music in Finsbury Park, will see an exclusive UK performance by Bob Dylan on Saturday and Van Morrison will be headlining the Sunday. There is also an exclusive appearance from the newly reformed Irish rock band The Cranberries.

Vince Power, founder of the Mean Fiddler Group, Hop Farm Music Festival and operator of Benicassim Festival, was responsible for 13 Fleadh festivals at Finsbury Park, which was a staple on the London music calendar from 1990 until 2004. Continuing on from where the Fleadh left off, London Feis steps in with a fresh outlook: Irish in flavour, international in reach.

Vince has hosted some of the biggest names in Irish and international music and the London Feis will be a celebration of some of the acts Vince has worked with over the years.

Festival boss Vince Power said: 't's great to announce even more acts across the two days and it's fantastic to have an act of Thin Lizzy's calibre on the bill. This year's Feis is set to be an unforgettable experience.'

The festival will see the best Irish and international music has to offer on four stages at London's Finsbury Park.

Jack White felt he no longer had any control over The White Stripes

The duo - who have not released any new material since 2007 - recently confirmed they had split, with astatement saying the band"no longer belonged"to them and is in the hands of their fans.

The frontman explained this further, claiming he and bandmate Meg White felt it would prevent further questions about their work being raised.

He said:"People say, 'Why didn't you do this? Why didn't you do that?' Or, 'Don't you owe something to somebody, or to yourselves?' All those questions.

"That line was the idea of explaining to them that at a certain point as an artist, you paint your painting, you do your sculpture or your music, and you release it into the world.

"You don't own it anymore. You have no control over it. You put it out there to share with other people. You can only hope for the best."

Jack played a short solo set at the South by South West (SXSW) festival, an event he first played with the White Stripes before they landed a record deal.

Despite admitting performing at such a large show opened doors for them, the rocker says he had always vowed never to play there.

He added in an interview with the New York Times newspaper:"It's a funny story. I swore never to play South by Southwest coming out as a teenager. But we got offered $3,000 to play a party, in 2000 or 2001. And we said, we've got to do it. That was the most money we'd ever heard of in our lives.

"About a week before we got down they said, 'Oh, you also have to play the festival because it's illegal for us to have you if you're not part of the festival.'

"So we had to do it. But it ended up being really good timing for the band. It really broke the band in a bigger level. So it was like, O.K., maybe I shouldn't have been so hard about it."

Amy Winehouse to appear on Tony Bennett duets album

Amy Winehouse entered the studio with crooner Tony Bennett recently to record a song for his upcoming 'Duets II' release.

The song, which is yet to be revealed, will be the first piece of recorded music Winehouse has put out since recording the Leslie Gore song 'It's My Party' for Quincy Jones' 2010 album 'Q: Soul Bossa Nostra'.

Bennett's album will also feature appearances by Lady Gaga, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, K.D. Lang, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban and Faith Hill to name a few. It will be released on September 20, 2011.

It is believed that Winehouse is currently recording her third album, which will be her first since 2006's breakout release 'Back To Black'.

The rocker is impressed by the 'Baby' singer's musicianship and thinks he puts on a great live show.

Michael Jackson considered Dame Elizabeth Taylor as 'royalty'

The late singer ' who was known as the 'King of Pop' ' was a close friend of the Hollywood beauty, who passed away on Wednesday (23.03.11) aged 79, and believed they understood each other because they had both been child stars.

Their mutual friend David Gest said: ' recall the time we were having dinner at La Scala restaurant in Beverly Hills. People flocked around her - it was funny because for once Michael wasn't the centre of attention.

' remember he leaned over and whispered to me, 'Now that's what you call royalty.'

'To Americans she was royalty, she was the closest thing they have to a queen and everywhere she went people fawned over her.

'Michael once told me that the reason they got along so well was that she was a child star herself, so understood him completely.'

Concert promoter David also revealed 'Thriller' singer ' who died in June 2009 - would often shower the 'Cleopatra' star with gifts, and felt he could be 'human' when he was with her.

David added to The Sun newspaper: 'They would take trips together to New York or London. And Elizabeth loved lavish gifts. Michael would shower her with presents of jewellery and said she was like an excited little kid when he presented her with something new.

'She loved this specific violet rose which you could only get in this one Beverly Hills florist.'

Elizabeth started her career aged 10 in the film 'There's One Born Every Minute' in 1942, and went on to become one of the biggest stars of the 'Golden Age of Hollywood' in the 1950s. She continued acting until 2001 appearing in the TV film 'These Old Broads'.

Michael shot to fame as a member of The Jackson Five, which he starred in from the age of six with his brothers, before going on to become one of the biggest pop stars of all-time.

The group had their first hit with lead vocals from Michael in 1969 with 'I Want You Back'.

Jamiroquai pull gig last night after crew member dies

Jamiroquai cancelled a concert last night (24.03.11) after the death of one of their stage hands.

The 'Virtual Insanity' hitmakers had been due to play a show at the La Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon, France, but cancelled after a 26-year-old worker lost his footing and fell 50ft from a gantry.

Frontman Jay Kay wrote on his Facebook page: 'The band was shocked and saddened when told the news, and out of respect immediately felt the right decision was to cancel the show. A police investigation is taking place.'

This is not the first time a star has to cancel a show following a tragedy.

In 2009, Madonna axed one of her shows at the Velodrome stadium in Marseilles, France, after two workers died following the collapse of a stage set as they prepared for a show in her 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour.

The singer released a statement at the time saying:"I'm devastated at the tragic news. My prayers go to those who were injured and their families."

The 'Material Girl' hitmaker was told of the accident while she was rehearsing for her concert at Friuli Stadium, in Udine, Italy, and later in the evening, stopped her performance, telling the audience:"I ask you for a moment to stop and think of the people who have lost their lives, we need to appreciate life, the people we love and our families."

Duran Duran launch album with David Lynch

Duran Duran will live stream a show from Los Angeles to launch their latest album.

The 'Rio' hitmakers - who release their 13th record 'All You Need is Now' on CD this week - will collaborate with filmmaker David Lynch for the 'Unstaged: An Original Series from American Express' concert from the Mayan Theatre in the city on Wednesday (23.03.11) and lead singer Simon Le Bon said he can't wait to work with the maverick 'Lost Highway' director.

He said:"We are all beyond delighted that David Lynch has agreed to direct this show for us. It's a dream come true, quite frankly. We are all such fans of his work and think he has a creative vision like no other."

David added:"The idea is to try and create on the fly, layers of images permeating Duran Duran on the stage. A world of experimentation and hopefully some happy accidents."

Simon recently revealed he feels he and bandmates Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor have recaptured the essence of the band's first albums as a result of working with producer Mark Ronson.

He said:"I love this new album because we're edgy again. Our first two albums were considered cutting edge, futuristic and very modern. Mark brought that element of danger and risk back to our music this time around, rather than it sounding like it was designed for the charts beforehand."

Nirvana EP to be rereleased for record store day

Nirvana's 1992 'Hormoaning' EP will be rereleased for Record Store Day.

The EP was an Australia-only release for their 1992 tour and appearances at the Big Day Out.

It was a recording of John Peel Sessions, featuring covers of Devo, The Vaselines and The Wipers, as well as live versions of early Nirvana tunes 'Aneurysm' and 'Even In His Youth'.

Now NME reports that the EP will be rereleased for Record Store Day on April 16, limited to 6000 copies.

Other acts that are releasing special albums for Record Store Day include Bad Brains, Built To Spill, The Flaming Lips, Deftones, and Mastodon.

There are also scores of instore events and Record Store Day have secured Ozzy Osbourne as their ambassador.

Robbie Williams wants to lose more weight than Gary Barlow

The Take That singers are both trying to shift the pounds after piling on weight since Christmas and Robbie is determined to lose more than his bandmate after learning he is starting a new eating plan.

The 'Angels' singer told The Sun newspaper:"Me and Gary vary in weight. We go up and down by the week.

"Gary and the boys were at my house in Los Angeles last week when Gary turns to me and says, 'I won't be needing these clothes soon, do you want them?' - because he's going on a diet.

"That was the day I thought, 'Right, if you're eating a lettuce, I'm eating half a lettuce.'"

The 37-year-old star has joked his weight loss ambition is to match Christian Bale's size in 'The Machinist' - a role which saw the British actor lose 60lbs by eating just a can of tuna and an apple a day.

He quipped:"There is now a serious game on to see who can get the thinnest for the tour.

"You know 'The Machinist' with Christian Bale? I'm going for Christian Bale."

Despite Robbie's joke, the 'Kidz' hitmakers actually intend to get in shape healthily, with both of them working out with their own personal trainers.

They are also sharing a nutritionist called Jasmine who will work with them every day until Take That's 'Progress Live' tour starts in May.

The 'Baby' hitmaker revealed he and his mother Pattie Mallette were so poor after his dad Jeremy Bieber walked out on them that he didn't even have a proper bed and had to sleep on a pull out couch in their Canadian council flat before he was discovered on video sharing website YouTube.

Justin said: 'That place was really dirty. We had mousetraps everywhere because there were mouses ' uh, mice ' in the house. I didn't have a real bed. I slept on a blue pull-out couch in my room.'

Now the 17-year-old singer has admitted he would love to play poverty stricken orphan Oliver Twist in a remake of the 1966 musical 'Oliver!' because he can identify with the protagonist.

He explained to The Sun newspaper: 'We didn't have anything in the fridge, except maybe luncheon meat for school and macaroni and cheese. I'd love to play Oliver Twist.'

It has previously been revealed Justin's mother thinks he would in a"lot of trouble"if he wasn't a pop star and they hadn't moved away from their old neighbourhood.

His manager Scooter Braun said:"I think his mother - she and I have talked about this - at times, she struggles with how protective we have to be of him.

"But I also think, and she's said this in interviews, that she feels safer with him living this life because it's structured and we know where he is all the time. She feels that if they were still in Stratford, Ontario, he'd be getting himself into a lot of trouble."

He thinks the band should"literally destroy themselves"to make an impact on the music industry.

The 65-year-old rocker - who was the guitarist and songwriter in the band -was keen to adopt a"punk"frame of mind during the early days of the group, but fellow band member Roger Daltrey wasn't so keen.

He said:"I was an art school boy and I had my big ideas of what we were doing. My manifesto was much closer to punk. I thought we should literally destroy ourselves, perhaps pour petrol and blow ourselves up, which Keith Moon thought was fabulous.

"Roger wasn't so keen. He still wanted to be a sexy rock 'n' roll star. So half of our crowd was mods and half was art school kids."

Prior to The Who's explosion onto the rock scene, Pete admits he and his bandmates - Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, Keith Moon, Kenney Jones and Doug Sandom - were forced to undertake"sh***y jobs"to make ends meet.

He added:"People were working in sh***y jobs. Roger was a tin plate worker. John Entwistle worked at the Inland Revenue. Keith worked at British Gypsum, and he was so bored that he kept sending the wrong concrete to the wrong building so that in a few years' time the buildings would fall down."

Eminem pays tribute to Nate Dogg

Eminem has paid tribute to Nate Dogg, saying his music"will never be replaced".

The singer - best known for his 1994 hit 'Regulate' featuring Warren G -died unexpectedly on Tuesday (15.03.11) and Eminem has joined the long list of people to pay tribute to him.

Eminem, who recorded two tracks with Nate, 'Till I Collapse' in 2002 and 'Shake That' in 2005, told the E! Online: ''Nate's voice in music will never be replaced.

"He helped create the blueprint for West Coast hip-hop, and I was one of the lucky people who had the privilege to work with him and the honour to have him as a friend.

"Nate will be sorely missed. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and loved ones."

Snoop Dogg - who had known the singer since they went to school together - and Ludacris were among the first to pay respects to the star, while 50 Cent also tweeted a tribute.

50 - who featured Nate on his single '21 Questions' - said:"GOD BLESS HIM R.I.P he meant a lot to west coast hip-hop. I've always been a fan of it."

Nate worked extensively with rappers throughout his career including Snoop, Ludacris and Tupac Shakur. He appeared on more than 40 singles which made it into the US Billboard top 40 during his career and also released three albums of his own.

One source told Reveal magazine 'Amy has become obsessed with cleaning and is spending hours every day polishing and scrubbing.

't's an attempt to keep herself in check. So no one is trying to stop her from doing it.

'One of Amy's favourite things is to try out new cleaning products ' she loves them. She literally spends hours scrubbing every inch of her home.'

It was recently revealed Amy has had a huge clear out in her home and donated over£20,000 of clothes to charity.

A source said:"Amy turned up in a people carrier with loads of stuff in bin liners. Top, top designer gear.

More acts added to Deadmau5 line up

Following the announcement of deadmau5' return to the UK to headline his first ever outdoor event a host of acts have now been added to the bill.

Producer Mark Ronson and chart-topper Calvin Harris will be taking to the stage along with Radio 1s Zane Lowe and dubstep duo Nero.

Pete Wentz 'shocked' as Ashlee Simpson is spotted with another man

Pete Wentz is said to be 'shocked' Ashlee Simpson has been spotted with another man.

The Black Cards rocker was surprised to find his estranged wife ' who filed for divorce last month - pictured with his friend, D.R.U.G.S musician Craig Owens.

A source told Usmagazine.com:"Pete did a lot for this guy. Craig was in another band and got kicked out.

Pete found Craig, built a band around him and signed him. He's shocked at how this guy is repaying him."

Sources close to 25 year old Ashlee ' who has two-year-old son, Bronx with Pete ' claim despite pictures of heavily tattooed Craig, 26, with his arm around her, they are just friends.

A friend explained:"Ashlee and Craig are long time friends. They have spent some time together, and he is comforting her throughout this difficult time."

Despite Ashlee applying for sole custody of Bronx on her divorce papers, and Pete requesting joint care, another source said they are both working to reach an amicable agreement.

A source told People.com:"Ashlee and Pete's split is amicable and they're working together to make this as positive a situation for Bronx as possible.'

Elbow's rehearsal schedule has relaxed with age

Guy Garvey ' the Manchester-based group's frontman ' admitted while the 'One Day Like This' hitmakers used to be"really quite fascist"about people turning up late for band practice, it is now difficult to even get them all in the same room together.

He explained:"We used to rehearse a lot more. There's not really a distinction between writing and recording and rehearsing for us. I mean, in preparation for a tour, as we have been in the last few weeks, it's kind of all rehearsals. I'd say, if I was to be honest, probably about four hours a day max, yeah, because there's a lot of messing about.

"My tour manager says getting us all in one room is like herding cats, but yeah, that's a more gentlemanly pace as we've got older. We used to be really quite fascist about it If someone was 15 minutes late. For a couple of decades there, there'd be an argument if you were 15 minutes late."

However, Guy ' who is joined in the band by brothers Mark and Craig Potter, Richard Jupp and Pete Turner ' admitted he realised he had a lot of love for Elbow when they released fifth studio album 'Build a Rocket Boys!' earlier in the week.

Speaking on the Absolute Radio Geoff Lloyd Hometime show, he added:"It's just a really lovely feeling having the album out.

"Like it was my birthday the day before, so Sunday was my birthday, so I spent all day in the pub with my friends, and then woke up on Monday, fifth album out, it's a nice place to be when you're 37, and just spent all day texting the band love and feeling pretty good about myself."

Steven Tyler says penning a memoir is more 'cathartic' than writing an album

The 'Aerosmith' frontman will release his autobiography 'Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?' in May and admitted looking back over his early career and colourful personal life was an emotional experience.

In a video posted on website Blabbermouth, he said:"God, a memoir. A memoir like this is beyond cathartic. It's one step better than having an album with your songs on it from the '70s and it being 2010.

'Doing a book, you bring up things that you didn't remember happened, and as soon as you do, it opens up that place in your mind that you spew out onto the pages. It's like watching your own yearbook, your own personal yearbook, and I hope that's what this is."

However despite his emotional experience of writing the book, Steven revealed listening to his early hits still thrills him.

He explained: 'When you put on the headphones and you listen to the beginning of {Aerosmith song} 'Sweet Emotion', you have all of this incredible room sound that you were in then and can totally relate to. It's so strong that you can almost smell it when you're in the headphones listening to the beginning of 'Sweet Emotion', for someone like me who wrote it, sang it, was in the studio and knows what went on. Just listening to it brings me totally back.

The latest issue of Look magazine features a new interview and a photoshoot with Amy Winehouse looking healthy and pronouncing her drug troubles over.

She said, ''I've finally escaped from hell. Before I came out here I looked at a photo of myself in the paper and was horrified.

Jamie T cleared of GBH

Jamie T has been cleared of a GBH following an incident last Spring which involved another man stealing his drink.

The singer, real name Jamie Treays, was acquitted of the charge, when the jury ruled that the T acted in self-defence.

T was involved in an incident at the Windmill pub in Brixton in May 2010, which ended with Giles Curties suffering a double jaw fracture.

The Mirror reports that Curties apparently"lunged"at the singer following an alteraction over a stolen pint. Jamie was apparently concerned that the man was about to headbutt him, so retaliated.

P. Diddy is to coach 'American Idol' contestants on their 'swagger'

The hip-hop mogul is to perform his latest single 'Coming Home' with his group Diddy-Dirty Money on the TV talent search show next month and will also style the aspiring singers through his Sean John clothing collection.

He said:"I'm helping the contestants with their styles. I'm helping to dress them with Sean John.

"I'm bringing a celebrity stylist to help us this week. We're going try to get them to have that superstar shine and swagger that I try to exude on a daily basis.

"I'm going to hit 'em with some musical tips, some inspiration, some motivation, and then I'm gonna show 'em how to do it. I'm going to hit that stage after I show 'em how to have that swagger."

This season has seen both Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez - who Diddy dated for almost three years until 2001 - join the judging panel in place of Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres and the rapper is impressed with how well his former lover is doing on the show.

He told 'Access Hollywood':"First of all she's just looking so good. You've got to give it to her for having twins and to be doing it how she's doing it. I'm so proud of her.

"The way Jennifer handled coming in after Simon, and even myself from 'Making the Band,' and the way we were hard coaches - she's been a compassionate person. She has made me cry, like, twice, and she's looked good doing it. And she has made sense so, you know, I'm proud of her.

"She's a nice person, so when you're super nice, your emotions get the best of you. It's good though - it's good to see that change in the competitive shows. I think she's very refreshing."

Ronan Keating is set to make his movie debut

The Boyzone singer ' who has recently been working as a judge on the Australian version of 'The X Factor' ' will return Down Under next month to shoot scenes for the top secret project.

Asked when he plans to return to Oz, 34-year-old Ronan told 2Day FM's 'Kyle and Jackie O Show':"I'm coming down on April 7, because I'm shooting my first movie in Australia. I just gave you a world exclusive actually.

"I can't tell you the title but I'm going to be on set on April 10 in Sydney.

"It's an Australian movie ... I'm very excited."

Ronan ' who has three children, Jack, Marie and Ali, with his wife Yvonne ' previously revealed he auditioned for a role in upcoming fantasy prequel 'The Hobbit' and was keen to launch a film career.

He said:"I don't think I'll get the role of the hobbit. But I would like to take on roles which nobody would expect. I don't want to be reduced to love stories. I'd like to try dark, edgy roles. I need a challenge."

The Spice Girls are split over whether to release an album of previously unheard material.

Group members Mel B and Mel C are choosing the new record from 60 tracks recorded when the group was active, but their bandmates - Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton - are said to be against the idea.

Victoria ' who is pregnant with her fourth child ' is instead focussed on her career as a fashion designer while Geri and Emma are siding with the group's former manager, Simon Fuller, who still represents them and is also not keen on the project.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'From a possible 60 tracks, three or four would be guaranteed number ones and there's definitely a solid album's worth of tracks. Although such a release would generate millions, it's not about the money.

'Both Melanies want to open up the band to a new generation of fans and keep the memory of the Spice Girls alive.

'But Victoria has a hugely successful career as a designer and she'd rather distance herself from the group to concentrate on that. Also if Simon Fuller doesn't feel the timing is right, Emma and Geri don't want to go against him.

't is safe to say this divide is causing friction within the group.'

While some members of the band ' who were formed in 1994 but split in 2000, before reforming for a reunion tour in 2007 - aren't keen on a new album, they are all behind forthcoming Spice Girls musical 'Viva Forever', which is set to open next year.

Heather Mills being sued for allegations about ex-husband Sir Paul McCartney

Heather Mills is being sued by her ex-publicists, who claim she made false allegations about her ex-husband Sir Paul McCartney.

A lawsuit has been launched by PR company Parapluie ' who used to work with the former model ' in which they say Heather made untrue claims about the musician, including allegations he used to beat her up while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The documents say Heather ' who has a seven-year-old daughter, Beatrice, with the former Beatles star - told one of the publicists:"I could kill {Paul} last night, he tried to choke me. The marriage is over."

However, sources at the company believe Heather was lying and fabricated the stories up in a bid to win sympathy.

The suit ' which has been obtained by gossip website TMZ ' also claims Heather was given the chance to appear on US TV show 'Celebrity Apprentice' but would only appear if Donald Trump would guarantee she would win, something he refused to do.

Heather, 43, is also accused of lying when she said all the money she earned from her appearance on 'Dancing with the Stars' in 2007 would go to charity, with the firm claiming only a portion did.

The publicity company is suing for unpaid fees totalling $168,000.

Heather got divorced from Paul in 2008 and she was awarded£24.3 million in the settlement.
